Infidelity refers to a sexual affair, whether it’s physical or emotional with another person outside of the predominate relationship. It breaches the pledge to remain faithful to a sexual partner, whether married or involved in an exclusive relationship. Unfortunately, infidelity is becoming commonplace and is more tolerable than in previous times. One thought is the decline in shame and personal moral compass and having more acceptance in a deteriorating moral structure. Many committed relationships can survive affairs by learning how to reestablish their connection, mend wounds and gain forgiveness.
